Canadian Contemporary Art - River Lewis Photographs
" Photography serves two purposes. It is a method of removing extraneous data from one's vision, or perceived environment, with the viewfinder or digital monitor. We can instantaneously ignore those visual elements that distract, detract, and distance us from bonding with a subject. Additionally it is a way of digging out colors, shapes and lines from a scene or subject and recording the most essential portions that ring true. From that starting point, we are certain to arrive at the destination which always was to be. My search investigates the point of imbalance between the natural state and the human expanse. "
