" Artists Trading Cards are an opportunity to casually explore ideas much like a sketch book. My first set was made just a few days before the 2010 Richmond Art Gallery Artists Trading Card Exhibition. Surprisingly it generated for me a mini-wealth of content that was lurking in my subconscious! Related to this first set, I dove into the multi-layered metaphor and started scripting/designing paintings, three-dimensional work, photo essays, and more. From playing around with brush and ink figures came an image of conjoined twins. I decided to look deeper at meanings of interpersonal perception, the question of glass half-full or half-empty, and forever. Would I perceive these twins according to their skeleton or their heart? Since this series of artist trading cards I have been looking at the one situation that we cannot be separated from. We are all joined to this planet, the land, water and air. My studio is filling up with ideas and materials. The making of the 'Together Forever, The X-Rays' series has coincided with an artistic breakthrough. 2010-11-13 " All my artist trading cards will be found through this page. Canadian, International, and Okanagan artists are all welcome to suggest a trade.
